Produced by SoHo Experiential, the Season 5 premiere tasting for Bravo's Top Chef Masters filled New York's 82 Mercer with foodies, chefs, and plenty of fancy grub on July 16. In addition to chefs recreating and serving dishes highlighted in the first episode, the event, co-hosted by Chase Sapphire Preferred, offered an interactive herb station. The appropriately culinary activity invited guests to guess which herb was in a large glass vessel based on its look and scent. Wooden breadboards provided written descriptions of each, with answers displayed on the back.

The thought behind the concept, according to producers, was that consumers may know the name of certain herbs but not know what the herb looks or smells like. The station let guests get up close to the garden-grown seasonings and learn more about their origins and uses. There was also an herb specialist on hand to chat with guests and answer any herb-related questions.
