Recalling an earlier age of Hollywood pomp, the fourth annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic took to Will Rogers State Historic Park in Los Angeles on October 5. Working with Veuve director of communications Christine Kaculis, BrownHot produced the event once again with the chic, whimsical, and subtly branded details that characterize the annual sporting event.
Celebs like Rachel Zoe, Kaley Cuoco, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Alessandra Ambrosio, Mandy Moore, and Lauren Conrad were among the guests, arriving in front of a 3-D step-and-repeat wall that was inspired by elegant garden picnics. BrownHot created a vintage flower stand with Veuve bottles potted as plants and logo plaques on wooden sticks growing from moss.
More than 5,000 spectators watched international polo star Nacho Figueras play alongside his 13-year-old son, Hilario, for the first time; Figueras led his team Black Watch in an 8-7 victory over Nespresso. The 4,300 general admission ticket holders on the North Lawn spent the day amid a 70-foot-long replica of the Hollywood sign, hand-painted in the brand's distinctive color.
The day also included a V.I.P. picnic, where more than 170 tables were set for more than 700 guests, who snacked on catering from Good Gracious Events, as well as Nespresso coffee drinks and Sprinkles ice cream; music was provided by DJ Cohen. Copious overhead pennants and carnival lights, custom linens, and mismatched vintage dining chairs added to the playful look BrownHot described as "bistro meets outdoor café meets pretty picnic."
