Brunch, spa treatments, and Pilates on the beach—how L.A. is that? It was also the format that loungewear brand Scanty chose to promote its products at the LG house in Malibu. Guests perused Scanty's latest fashions at the September 6 event hosted by Rachael Leigh Cook (who wore Scanty PJs).
“We wanted to finish up summer with a great event, a fun retreat,” said Scanty vice president of sales Julie Zipperer, who oversaw the event. Owner-designer Mickey Sills added, “Being at the beach was the perfect idea because Scanty is all about comfort and a casual lifestyle."
To play up the pajama-party theme, NineThirty restaurant at the W Los Angeles catered brunch with items from its new menu and chef, such as fruit paninis, French toast, and bagels with a toppings bar. “This event was a good way for W to introduce new chef Monique King before the reopening of NineThirty restaurant in October with her brand-new menu,” W publicist Amanda MacNaughton said.“We wanted to finish up summer with a great event, a fun retreat,” said Scanty vice president of sales Julie Zipperer, who oversaw the event. Owner-designer Mickey Sills added, “Being at the beach was the perfect idea because Scanty is all about comfort and a casual lifestyle."
The W's Bliss spa was on the scene to give guests massages, oxygen treatments, and manicures. A Pilates session on the beach with Heather Leon of Heather Leon Studio in Santa Monica topped off the afternoon.
