Hollywood's speakeasy-style 86 debuted under new ownership as Hush Lounge earlier this month. Co-owners Robert Palmer and Brenda Phillips revamped the space with a new decor that features upholstered leather banquettes and crystal chandeliers, and pays homage to the venue’s history—it was once a speakeasy belonging to Rudolph Valentino.
The 5,377-square-foot supper club features live jazz performances on the weekends and can accommodate 160 for seated events or 300 for receptions. The Autumn Leaves lounge seats 20, as does the Valentino dining room.
Chef Keith Silverton continues his stint at the venue, and his menu features entrees such as braised short rib and hanger steak with truffles and herbs. Specialty cocktails also nod to the Valentino era and include the Draque (Bacardi Gold, Angostura Bitters, lime juice, brown sugar, and soda) and Versailles (Hendrick’s Gin, triple sec, Lillet, lime, and cassis).
