Chicago native Brian McKeaney opened Rush Street in Culver City on July 12 with partners Ken Kaufman and Tom Patchett. The eatery is named after the mile-long stretch of bars and restaurants located in downtown Chicago.
The space features a 35-foot molded concrete bar that seats 20, and black leather booths seat 32 in the main dining room. A sidewalk patio at the front of the venue holds 34, and a ground-floor lounge seats 30. The second-floor lounge, dubbed Upstairs, accommodates 50 and includes a private back room and a rooftop patio with space for an additional 50. The entire venue holds 280 for events.Executive chef Dave Northrup’s menu combines traditional bar-fare starters like dry-aged beef sliders and glazed baby back ribs with brick-oven pizzas. Entrees include seared sand dabs and lobster thermador ravioli with gruyère. The eatery will serve lunch beginning in August.
