Everybody loves the circus, right? (Well, maybe not the PETA protesters.) So the atmosphere at Madison Square Garden was especially festive, as the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus celebrated its opening night in New York with a fete for 600 circus V.I.P.s, journalists, advertisers and performers. (Madison Square Garden's Avery Bank, who helped coordinate the event, told us the annual party is the longest-running black-tie opening night party--taking place for 132 years.)

Flower Loft's Nancy Kitchen created imaginative d?cor that reflected the nods to futuristic technology that were incorporated into this year's circus. Space-age centerpieces set on purple tablecloths were made from disco balls, and resembled Jetsons-like architecture, and glittery display signs touted the show's star performers.

The Garden's buffet dinner included prime rib and bison, Caesar salad, fruit and cheese plates and an assortment of dessert pastries, and was served on shimmery tablecloths.
