Stars were in abundance at Foot Locker's second annual On Our Feet gala, but most of them weren't real. The event—a fund-raiser for the United Way of Greater New York City's recreational and sports programs for kids—was held among the wax figures at Madame Tussaud's, with some real-life Bette Midler, John Travolta and Cher look-alikes, along with some of the actual stars from The Sopranos in attendance, too.

In all, 1,200 living and breathing people toured the museum, starting at the Reebok-sponsored Opening Night Party room and winding down through the exhibits to the silent auction autograph pavilion. Thanks to The Catering Company's abundance of food, guests could stop to nosh as often as they stopped to examine the wax figurines. It seemed that every turn had another buffet table laden with sushi, pasta, prime rib, spinach-stuffed chicken, Caesar salad, roasted vegetables and spinach pies. And after guests had stuffed themselves, illusionists, palm readers, a numerologist, a jazz trio and a DJ provided entertainment.

With food as the centerpiece, d?cor was holiday-themed and simple: Brightly lit Christmas trees, evergreen swags, glittery red tablecloths and white votive candles created a festive atmosphere in the fifth floor V.I.P. lounge.

Everyone from the guests to the caterwaiters to the musicians got dressed according to the evening's theme: Black tie with athletic shoes. Chic? No. But it was definitely in the spirit.
