The New York Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA), Midas Printing Limited and William Morrow publishers hosted a launch party to celebrate the opening of the ”M.I.L.K.” (Moments of Intimacy, Laughter and Kinship) photography exhibit in Grand Central Station's Vanderbilt Hall. Hundreds of people, from MTA and publishing execs, members of the press and the photographers whose works were on display attended the event. Hong Kong-based Midas donated the printing of the actual photographs for the exhibit, and William Morrow, a division of Harper-Collins, published the exhibit's commemorative books.

The exhibit of 300 photos was designed by New Zealand artist Geoff Blackwell. The portable exhibit is a steel pipe and black fabric-constructed frame with each photo protected by a thick piece of clear Plexiglas. This event marked the international launch of the exhibit, which is scheduled to travel to London and other European cities following its six-week run in New York.

The Villa Maria Wine Estates donated the wine for the event, which offered a spread of breads, cheese, nuts, crudites and fresh fruit from Great Performances. The Zane Massey Quartet played a swinging mix of jazz music for the crowd that happily chatted and previewed the exhibit.
