GLOBAL: Continuing its growth as the world’s largest producer of live experiences and its commitment to providing a greater and more diverse slate of events, worldwide entertainment leader ASM Global has expanded its content department with the hire of Duc Nguyen as vice president, global content programming. Nguyen joins the team tasked with content generation for its arenas, stadiums, theaters and convention centers, under the leadership of industry veteran John Boyle, global chief content officer.
Event experience operating system Bizzabo has launched its Global Event Center of Excellence, a first-of-its-kind, dedicated division providing event expertise, education and resources to event professionals. The new offering will curate and share the best industry practices as well as big-picture insights via events, webinars, workshops, templates and other types of content.
Questex hosted the largest gathering of the tea industry in North America last month at the World Tea Conference + Expo. Co-located with the Bar & Restaurant Expo—North America’s premier conference and expo for the bar and restaurant industry—the combined events were held at the Las Vegas Convention Center and attracted over 10,000 attendees. The trade show featured a lively expo floor with more than 50 exhibitors and insightful educational sessions and workshops, plus a Tea Bar, a Boba Tea Experience and a 20th Anniversary Celebration, as well as other key networking and educational opportunities.
MONTREAL: The 42nd edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, presented by TD Bank Group in collaboration with Rio Tinto, will be held June 30-July 9. In total, more than 350 concerts will be presented from artists around the globe (and two of three concerts will be free). Programming will feature music legends, discoveries, diversity and experimentations, as well as several shows created exclusively for the annual jazz festival.
VANCOUVER: The DOXA Documentary Film Festival, Western Canada’s largest documentary film festival, has announced that the 21st annual DOXA Documentary Film Festival will take place May 5-15. They announced their lineup of special presentations, featuring both Canadian and international selections.
