US: NBA Park to Open in Brazil, Outshine's Joyous Campaign, a Food-Clad Event Series in NYC, and More

GLOBAL: The NBA and Nacional Parque Basquete Brasil—an operator of theme parks and entertainment attractions—have announced a collaboration to open NBA Park in November. The three-story entertainment center will span more than 13,000 square feet and will mark the league’s largest fan destination in the world. NBA Park will be operated by Nacional Parque Basquete Brasil and be located in Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul. The park will immerse fans in basketball activities and virtual reality experiences, plus will include an on-site NBA store and NBA-themed restaurant, photo opportunities, and more.

NATIONAL: Outshine frozen fruit bars is launching a campaign dubbed “Let The Joy Shine Through” on Sept. 13 in partnership with The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation. The partnership—which runs through Sept.—will result in 2,000 trees planted globally with the help of NBA Star and Outshine fan Duncan Robinson. Robinson is also taking to Instagram and TikTok, where he’s encouraging fellow users to “share the joy of fruit” with posts that use the hashtag #OutshineSpreadsJoy and that tag @OutshineSnacks. The first 100 people that are nominated will receive a fruit tree to plant in their own yard or community.

CHICAGO: Louvre Fantastique: The Exhibition is now open to the public at Oakbrook Center and is running through the month of October. Here, art enthusiasts of all ages are welcome to explore the treasures of the Louvre as they’re brought to life. The exhibit features 100 masterpieces, all produced in larger-than-life size for an interactive experience in Chicagoland. Attendees can expect projection mapping, three-dimensional recreations, elements of augmented reality, and more. Tickets are available via Fever starting at $29.20 for adults and $20.30 for children.

MIAMI: The Mondrian South Beach has announced Anthony Rico as the property’s new managing director. Rico brings more than two decades of experience in hospitality to the role, having held a variety of executive positions across multiple luxury properties, including The Boca Raton Beach Club, the SLS-Baha Mar, Caesars Entertainment, and more. Rico spent the early part of his career in food and beverage and, during this time, became a certified Level II Advanced Wine Sommelier and worked with the likes of Guy Fieri, Gordon Ramsey, and Buddy Valastro.

NEW YORK: New York City’s underground marketplace on the Lower East Side, The Market Line, is hosting a series of events throughout September to highlight the bounty of the season. Every Monday from 9 p.m.-midnight throughout the month, the venue will host Industry Night at Grand Delancey, complete with more than 25 unique food and drink vendors. Other special programming includes live performances from DJ Poon every Friday from 6-10 p.m. and DJTommy James on Saturdays and Sundays.
