US: Pop-Up Speakeasy at Le Méridien Dallas, Date Announced for First Fully AI-Powered Event, San Diego's MLS Team, and More

DALLAS: The historic Le Méridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh will host a temporary speakeasy on its 11th floor for two dates only: June 15 and Aug. 14. Patrons can expect 1920s-inspired cocktails and bites, and hotel leaders will be on hand to give a rare tour of the private rooms and offer insights into the hotel’s 100-year history. This is all part of the property's yearlong celebration of its centennial, which offers the public a fresh look at the hotel that has welcomed the likes of Elvis Presley, Judy Garland, Andy Warhol, and Aretha Franklin—just to name a few.

HOUSTON: Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe | Houston has announced Jon Ramirez as its new executive food and beverage director. Ramirez will oversee the six on-site Margaritaville-inspired restaurants and bars that offer a range of options like fresh seafood, burgers, pizza, salads, and more. He joins the resort from Lupe Tortilla, where he served as managing partner.

LOS ANGELES: The first-ever fully AI-powered event, AUTONOMOUSXP, is slated for Feb. 4, 2024. It will be a three-day immersive experience where AI will make every decision possible, demonstrating its groundbreaking potential. Led by event and experiential marketing professionals Margaret Launzel-Pennes, Mark Roberts, and Audry Hegwood, AUTONOMOUSXP aims to push the boundaries of what AI can do in the events industry with the motto “AI no matter what.” 

MIAMI: Arlo Wynwood’s Higher Ground, the third-floor urban park for craft cocktails and bites, has announced changes to its operations, including extended operating hours, a new weekday lunch menu, and new programming. Now open from Thursday to Sunday from noon-8 p.m. with happy hour available from 3-6 p.m., Higher Ground is open longer for all to enjoy its frequent entertainment, including wellness events and monthly comedy nights.

SAN DIEGO: Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber has announced that the league’s 30th team will be established in San Diego in 2025. The team will play at the 35,000-seat Snapdragon Stadium at San Diego State University’s Mission Valley campus. Owned by Egyptian businessman Mohamed Mansour, San Diego Padres star Manny Machado, and the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, the first tribe to co-own a professional soccer team, the team is expected to be called the San Diego Football Club or the Football Club of San Diego.
