On March 24, HBO hosted a premiere party for the third season of Veep at Paramount Studios. The event had a splashy design from Billy Butchkavitz, replete with paisley upon paisley designs. “The paisley and bird fabrics were used to create my festive version of a vice presidential residence,” Butchkavitz said. “As everyone knows, I am not afraid of color or pattern.”

The bash also featured several references to one of the new plot lines. In the third season—beware of spoiler alerts—Julia Louis-Dreyfus's character has written a book called Some New Beginnings. “Several book-signing events are featured on the show, and I wanted to make the book part of the premiere party,” Butchkavitz said. To do so, planners set up a mock book signing on site and added other literary-theme tropes—including a rather ingenious one at the candy bar. Take a peek inside the Los Angeles party; the show's season premiere is April 6.
