The November meeting of the New England chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES) drew its biggest crowd ever at the 45,000-square-foot raw space High Output/Charles River Studios. Boston-based event production company Party by Design produced the program, "What's Hot and Cutting Edge in the Event Industry," which brought in more than 150 ISES members as well as new recruits to the organization and offered a glimpse at some of Boston's most innovative local vendors. Attendees entered the space through a dramatic neon-lit tunnel draped with sheer ISES-branded panels by Advanced Photographics. Inside, guests found lounges with velvet sofas and cubes by Cort Event Furnishings, beer mugs made of ice by Ice Effects, metallic shag table linens by Cloth Connection and go-go dancers by Siagel Productions. Imaginative decor included performers with costumes and make-up by Gin C Productions walking inside Party by Design's tables serving hors d'oeuvres and desserts by Domenic & Anthony. BiZBash Media president Richard Aaron delivered the keynote address, which highlighted emerging trends in branding and custom theming as well as tips for working within reduced budgets.
