On March 17, Kimberly Meyer will speak at a luncheon for the Las Vegas Hospitality Association at the Cosmopolitan on topics related to the new IMEX show, to be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center at the Venetian and the Palazzo. In her role in strategic initiatives for IMEX America, Meyer will discuss the new show, as well as industry studies and trends. (Meyer is also founder and C.E.O. of Meetings Analytics, a consultancy working with global corporations to reduce meetings expenses and related operational costs through reporting, analytics, and process improvement.)

The much buzzed-about new show will run October 11 through 13. It's always been an international show, and it will be held domestically for the first time in the United States: IMEX America is the U.S.’s new global exhibition for incentive travel, meetings, and events, backed by the resources of the IMEX Group of exhibitions, which also delivers IMEX in Frankfurt, a show that has grown every year since its launch. The show expects to run the largest hosted buyer program ever held in North America, with more than 2,000 qualified buyers expected.

The show will welcome exhibitors from across the world, including convention and visitor bureaus, national and regional tourist offices, major hotel groups, airlines, destination management companies, service providers, and trade associations. More than 2,000 American and international hosted buyers alongside thousands of U.S. trade attendees will represent association, corporate, and agency markets.

IMEX America benefits from a strategic partnership with Meeting Professionals International, as well as a broad coalition of industry support. MPI will no longer be holding its marketplace trade show at the MPI World Education Conference and is encouraging all MPI members to make IMEX America their trade show of choice. In addition, MPI will be creating new and dedicated educational programs to run alongside the exhibition. The MPI Foundation RendezVous event will also take place during IMEX America.

Las Vegas hosts more than 20,000 meetings, conventions, and exhibitions every year with the help of its 140,000 hotel rooms. According to the city's convention and visitors authority, events that move to Las Vegas experience an attendance increase of about 14 percent, and attendees at exhibitions in Las Vegas spend between two and a half to five hours longer on the show floor.

The Sands Expo and Convention Center has 2.25 million square feet of space, making the combination of the Sands Expo and Convention Center, the Venetian, and the Palazzo one of the largest meeting space facilities available.
