Here are three new group activities designed for a quick meeting break, educational afternoon, or high-energy retreat.
1. The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club has created the Buenos Dias Miami package, which teaches groups to prepare traditional Cuban coffee and food, including guava and cheese-filled pastelitos. Led by one of the resortβs chefs, the class requires at least 15 participants and is priced at $75 per person. Classes utilizing other types of cuisine can be arranged upon request; prices vary based on food choices.
2. Exhale Spa opened in late January at the Epic Hotel in downtown Miami, offering customizable group packages. Workshops and break-out sessions, ranging from 15 to 60 minutes, are available on various topics, including nutrition, meditation, and pain management. For the more active crowd, yoga and core strengthening classes can be arranged for groups of four to 25 and are priced at $250 per class.
3. For very active groups, thereβs Soccer Rooftop, which opened in May at the Rivergate Plaza in Brickell. Two outdoor soccer fields are covered by a 21-foot net to prevent balls flying over the edge of the building. Group packages include referees and field rental for a minimum of three hours. After-game events can also be held in the 400-square-foot indoor lounge.
