Miami’s financial district has added more restaurants and nightlife.
1. Named after a fishing ground in the Atlantic Ocean known for its high-quality seafood, Area 31 opened inside the Epic Hotel in January 2009. The 78-seat restaurant on the 16th-floor pool deck can accommodate an additional 64 on the terrace overlooking Biscayne Bay and the downtown skyline. Two private rooms for groups of six and 12 are also available.
2. Asian-inspired nightspot Club 50 opened on the 50th floor of the Viceroy Miami hotel in February 2009. The club has a private pool, views of the bay and downtown, and a late-night menu of light Mediterranean dishes. The rooftop space can accommodate 350 for events.
3. Slated to open this month, Hotel Urbano is the latest addition to the expanding Brickell skyline. This 65-room boutique hotel has 1,650 square feet of meeting space among three rooms and holds groups of 20 to 60. The Cuban-inspired restaurant with alfresco dining and the outdoor pool with private cabanas are available for events.
