To launch its new Insiders program in South Florida, luxury deal Web site Gilt City hosted a party on January 26 at the private residence of the inaugural "insider"βlocal entrepreneur Loren Ridinger, senior vice president and co-founder of MarketAmerica.com. The local initiative is designed to connect select personalitiesβor influencersβwith the online platformβs affluent audience and generate awareness around local businesses. Ridinger will work with James Wark, lead curator for Gilt City South Florida and others to develop sales in the market that reflect her interest and familiarity with the fashion, dining, and local beauty scenes.
At the event, which drew 200 attendees to Ridinger's home, guests snacked on mini Gilt City-branded cupcakes and brownies from Stella's Sweet Shoppe, sweets from the candy bar, cocktails from Double Cross Vodka and Alarcan Tequila, and champagne from the Nicolas Feuillatte-designated bar.
"Gilt City's Insiders event brought together the Miami community to celebrate local businesses and, of course, Loren's fantastic participation in this initiative," said Cara Crowley, Gilt City events manager. "It was a chic evening among friends in a beautiful setting at Loren's home."
Ridinger curated the first set of sales, which went live on Gilt City's Miami site January 25. Her second slate of sales went live on January 27, and will remain on the site through this week, or until offers are sold out. Offerings included deals from the Cowshed Spa at the Soho Beach House, Casa Tua, Curve boutique, and Blo Bar Midtown and Brickell.
Miami joins cities Boston, Dallas, San Francisco, and Washington as the newest member of the Insiders program.
