Stella McCartney landed in South Florida April 3, where the London-born fashion designer opened her first Florida boutique in the Bal Harbor Shops. The store's opening was celebrated with an intimate launch.
Outside in Bal Harbor's courtyard, a Cuban rhythm duo set the mood with smooth sounds via acoustic guitar and bongos, while a churro stand emblazoned with the Stella McCartney logo offered freshly fried Mexican treats. Inside the shop, a half-dozen hosts welcomed 150 guests into the store. Attendees sipped flutes of Nicolas Fueillette champagne, Perrier, and VeeV cocktails. The newly opened St. Regis Bal Harbour served as a co-host for the event and provided waitstaff along with a sampler of gourmet bites, including gazpacho shots and asparagus terrine spoons from Spanish-inspired restaurant Atlantico.
Models showcased the Stella McCartney London Evening Collection, while invitees perused the first pieces of inventory for sale, including womenswear, footwear, purses, intimates, and select pieces from the Stella McCartney Kids Collection. Adding an extra level of glitz to the event, jewels for private sale from Christieβs Fine Jewelry glistened from a center showcase.
Following the in-house store opening, select guests continued the festivities with a private dinner party across the street at Atlantico, with wine provided by Grgich Hills Estate.
