Are you planning a beach vacation or a long road trip? Or perhaps you'll be running around at one of summer's big events, heading to Montreal for the Rogers Cup, Chicago for Lollapalooza, or San Francisco for MPI's World Education Congress. Wherever you are this summer, you'll be able to keep up with the industry's latest news and ideas via our new podcast, GatherGeeks.

The idea behind it is simple: GatherGeeks is dedicated to understanding—and debating—what’s affecting the event and meeting world today. Every month the show will tackle new topics, and the hosts, Brandt Krueger and Audrey Gallien, will chat with professionals from different corners of the industry. In our first episodes, you’ll hear why we believe in the power of live experiences (with input from BizBash C.E.O. and founder David Adler as well as myself), how psychology and emotions play an important role in engaging an audience, and why the conversation around R.O.I. will never end. In the coming months, GatherGeeks will delve into food trends, what speakers expect from events today, and the power shift from organizer to attendee.

At BizBash, we're all about sparking conversations and sharing news and opinions as far as the Internet can reach, and we hope to continue engaging the event and meeting community—and frankly, anyone interested in live experiences—with this new initiative. What's exciting is that GatherGeeks already has listeners across North America as well as in Australia, Ireland, Mexico, South Africa, and Italy. All in all, more than 1,400 downloads.

And we've made it easy for you to tune in. GatherGeeks is available on all major podcast platforms, including in iTunes, Stitcher, Pocket Casts, Player FM, and SoundCloud, with more on the way. (If you're lazy, you can just listen from BizBash.com.)

So check it out, let us know what you think, and join the conversation on Twitter at @GatherGeeks.
