TECH: ID Cards With Incentives

Now there's one more way to tempt people to stop by a trade show booth--a new ID card that isn't just a worthless souvenir once the show ends, and helps trade show organizers provide more value to both attendees and exhibitors. BCard's new electronic business cards contain a chip that holds the typical information used for registration and lead gathering, but they also serve another function: When attendees allow an exhibitor to swipe their cards--and save their contact information--they rack up incentive reward points. Valid for as long as three years, the cards are reusable at any trade show that uses the bCard system, so rewards can accrue over time. Incentives are typically frequent flyer miles (bCard has relationships with United Airlines, American Airlines and Delta), and users can check their points and update their information on bCard's Web site. --Samantha Melamed
