Beekman Kitchen, an Upper East Side restaurant that offers Asian-influenced American cuisine in a sleek space designed by Larry Bogdanow (he also did Union Pacific and the Tribeca Grand Hotel), recently opened a new private dining room on its lower level. The intimate, maroon-colored room features bright white light fixtures and tablecloths. The space can seat 25, or hold 35 for cocktails. —Suzanne Ito
