Hot Koi Comes to New York

Located in the former Ilo space in the Bryant Park Hotel, Koi is the New York incarnation of the sceney Los Angeles restaurant of the same name. Owner Nick Haque looked to Icrave Design Studio (who did Crobar and Aer Lounge) for design direction—resulting in a space complete with a waterfall, dark wood furniture, leather banquettes, and most noticeably, ceiling decor inspired by the shape and arrangement of fish scales. Chef Sal Sprufero heads up the restaurant’s Japanese-inspired menu; the entire space seats 165. —Mark Mavrigian
