Far from Museum Mile but around the corner from the Hard Rock Cafe is another house of memorabilia. Following press previews yesterday, the Discovery Times Square Exposition opened today. The site, a 60,000-square-foot facility born out of a partnership between the Discovery Channel and Running Subway Productions, sits in what was once the home of The New York Times printing presses and debuted with two exhibits—"Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition" and "Lucy's Legacy: The Hidden Treasures of Ethiopia." The venue is spread across two levels and, in addition to two main galleries, includes a cafe and event space run by Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs.

Although the specific details for hosting corporate and nonprofit events at the new venue haven't been worked out yet, it's likely that the setup will be fairly similar to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Annex, also managed by Running Subway Productions, where groups can use the entire facility with tours of the exhibits (no food or beverages are allowed in these sections) and cocktail receptions or small seated dinners in the dedicated event space.
