On Monday, Austin-native Katie Youngkin began her new post as senior events manager for Fader Media/Cornerstone Promotion Inc. Following stints as project manager for South by Southwest and founder and managing director of Brass & Knuckle Productions, a full-service production company, Youngkin landed at Fader, which produces The Fader, a bi-monthly magazine covering music, culture, and fashion. She works with a team of five and is responsible for securing new clients, as well as “bringing brands and music together,” said Youngkin.
Youngkin’s calendar is marked with 30 events for the fall, including installations for the CMJ Music Conference and the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans in October, in addition to several in-store events from Los Angeles to Boston. Last night, Youngkin handled an in-store promotion at Penguin clothing boutique, across the street from the Fashion Week tents in Bryant Park.
