More than 4,500 journalists representing 28 countries headed to Ybor City's Cuban Club last night to kick off Super Bowl weekend with a special media event hosted by the Tampa Bay Super Bowl Host Committee. Local event producer Frank Clemente of conceptBAIT updated the historical venue with the company's signature spandex decor and colorful linens for the Salsa, Soul, and Rock 'n Roll party.
In keeping with the event theme, each of venue's three floors played a different music style-salsa, jazz, or rock 'n roll-with a special performance in the courtyard from rock band 38 Special featuring Donnie VanZant and Larry Junstrom from Lynyrd Skynyrd. Additionally, varying cuisines were served throughout the space including Latin, made-to-order sushi, and classic American favorites like burgers and hot wings from local restaurants Mise en Place, Green Iguana, and more.
