Here are new options for in-office lunches and desserts, or specialty foods for larger gatherings.
1. Chili Daddy specializes in chili in a variety of flavors, such as mango-chicken, Thai basil with chicken or pork, and classic Texas-style with beef and pinto beans. The company has 15 flavors on its permanent menu and another 15 available on a rotating basis. For small groups of 10 to 16, the company provides 1.5 gallon crock pots with locking lids to allow you to heat the chili in an office. Pick-up requires just an hour’s notice. Orders for groups of 100 to 500 (10 to 30 gallons) require three days' notice; larger orders for as many as 1,000 people—100 gallons—need two weeks' notice. Pricing starts at $65 per gallon and delivery is available.
2. Raphsodic Cooperative Company opened its bakery-meets-general store in Orlando in March. The bakery specializes in vegan cakes, cupcakes, pies, and cookies made with unbleached flour, fresh organic produce, fair-trade coffees, and whole grains. The dessert menu changes daily and includes options such as the Chocolate Love Explosion (chocolate bundt cake with chocolate ganache, topped with more chocolate) and chocolate-strawberry-oatmeal cookies. The desserts are priced at $2.50 per cupcake, $1.50 to $3 for cookies, and $20 to $40 for cakes and pies. Delivery is available within a five mile radius of the shop, and discounts are available for orders of 50 items or more.
