When it comes to catering, eye-catching presentation is almost as important as the food itself. For a show and a treat, here are two new Orlando-based companies preparing liquid nitrogen-infused ice cream at events.
1. Co-owned ice sculpture and rental companies Ice Magic and BW Designs recently expanded into catering with the introduction of the -321 Degrees ice cream system. The all-in-one mobile cart serves as a mixing, freezing, and service station. The basic menu has six flavors, including Oreo and Butterfinger, though the company can create custom ice creams, gelatos, and sorbets on request. The cost is $1,500 for three hours of service for 200 people and includes two flavors, four toppings such as sprinkles and cookie pieces, the machine, an attendant, and serving bowls and spoons.
2. New to the event market, Three2Oh launched its dessert service in November. Designed by a professional chef, the liquid nitrogen system can make ice cream, gelato, sorbet, and frozen cocktails for events. There are five flavors of each frozen treat to choose from, like sweet-cream caramel ice cream and watermelon sorbet, along with a selection of cookie and candy toppings. Custom flavors are available upon request. The service is priced at $5 per person with a $600 minimum and includes two flavors, four toppings, three hours of service, two attendants, and serving spoons and bowls. Homemade waffle cones are also available.
