The first hotel on Orlando’s International Drive recently underwent a $40 million renovation and reopened in late April as the Coco Key Hotel and Water Resort. The 391-room family hotel sits on 9.5 acres less than two miles north of the Orange County Convention Center.
The Key West-themed resort has 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space and a 54,000-square-foot partially covered water park.
Just off the lobby, a 4,500-square-foot secluded pool deck can host receptions for as many as 750 people amid its tropical plants and palm trees. There is also a 144-square-foot tiki bar and fire pit. Other outdoor spaces include pool decks on the north and south ends of the water park that can host as many as 300 and 400 people, respectively, for events.
For more traditional meeting space, the five-story Key West building—one of nine on the property—has four 30-person breakout rooms, two of which can be combined. For larger groups, the ballroom in the main building can seat 500 or host as many as 1,000 for receptions.
TradeWinds restaurant and the canopy-covered Wet Rooster Tiki Bar can also be used for private events of 150 and 125, respectively.
In addition to the water park, Coco Key has a 6,500-square-foot video arcade for recreation.
Free transportation to local attractions like Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld Aquatica, and Wet ‘n Wild is available.
