Walt Disney World’s culinary options continue to expand with the opening of two new international restaurants at Epcot that are well-suited to entertaining during a group retreat or incentive trip to the park. Additionally, a restaurant at Downtown Disney has introduced a unique dining concept at its new bar. Here’s a look at each of the venues:
1. Last week Via Napoli Pizzeria opened at the Epcot Italy pavilion. The 9,760-square-foot restaurant can seat 250 in its main dining room. The restaurant specializes in southern Italian dishes and oven-baked pizzas from its three wood-burning ovens, each named for Italy’s active volcanoes and adorned with a face sculpture with an opening at the mouth for the pizzas. There is also a covered patio for 50.
2. For South of the Border fare, the park’s Mexico pavilion will welcome new eatery La Hacienda de San Angel next month. Originally just 3,500 square feet, the revamped 12,000-square-foot Mexican eatery is comprised of a dinner-only dining area for 250 and a 150-seat outdoor spot, La Cantina de San Angel, for lunch and dinner. Both dining outlets overlook the World Showcase Lagoon and serve classic Mexican fare.
3. For post-work entertaining, well-known eatery Portobello in Downtown Disney opened its Meatball Bar in late July. An extension of the restaurant, the bar specializes in four kinds of meatball sliders—salmon, chicken, spicy pork, and beef and veal—paired with organic beers from Orlando Brewing. The bar seats 30 with an additional 10 seats at adjacent cocktail tables.
