TIFF Announces Festival Lineup and First-Ever Public Wrap Party

A series of concerts, a slam dunk competition, and an outdoor wrap party are among the free public events being hosted by the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) at Yonge-Dundas Square this year. The free programming, announced Tuesday, will include public performances and presentations by some of the artists and entertainers featured in films at this year’s festival, which runs September 4 to 13.

Concerts will include performances by the African singer Youssou Ndour, Keb’ Mo’, and Robert Randolph & The Family Band. Cast members from A Chorus Line will also perform in the square, which will be the site of an Invitational Slam Dunk Competition featuring an appearance by LeBron James, and a martial arts demonstration. The 33rd annual festival will come to a close on September 14 with the first-ever Public Festival Wrap Party, also at Yonge-Dundas Square.

TIFF has also announced its final list of 312 films. And organizers report that more than 500 celebrities—including the likes of Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Jessica Biel, and Jennifer Aniston—are expected to be in Toronto to promote their films this year.
