What I do: I recently stepped into my role with Explore St. Louis with the task of generating convention business from the mid-Atlantic region of the United States. I make monthly trips to the D.C. area to visit with national association clients to spread the word about new renovations and additions in St. Louis. How I got here: I started out of college as a sales manager in the regional sales office of Lodging Hospitality Management, a local hotel ownership company in St. Louis, selling for its eight convention hotels. Two years later, I made the move to the convention and visitors commission, where I quickly made my way into the D.C. and Chicago markets. I moved into my current role in January. Impressive stats: My first year with Explore St. Louis, I was responsible for 20,000 room nights, handling all of the United States for in-house programs. My second year I was responsible for 32,000 room nights, handling the D.C. and Chicago markets for the midsize programs. This year, I am responsible for the large citywide programs for the D.C. market—my goal is 42,000 room nights and I am projected to exceed that. What I’m working on: I am working on implementing an annual St. Louis event in the D.C. market. It has been awhile since we have had a signature event to really make our mark there with planners. What I do outside of work: I love to spend time with my boyfriend, family and friends. I enjoy playing volleyball and sand volleyball, in addition to shopping and checking out new breweries and wineries.
