On the heels of our report on corporate holiday parties, New York magazine offered its own round up of what companies are (or aren't) doing this year. Mayor-elect Michael Bloomberg nixed a holiday party for the Bloomberg company (guess he spent it all on the campaign), as did HBO, and law firm Proskauer Rose is throwing a 4 PM fete in the company's conference room, a scaled-back version of their festivities at B. Smith last year. Razorfish, once known for lavish affairs, will save money by having staffers handle the decor and DJ duties (and perhaps even the catering). Downtown ad firm Kirshenbaum Bond “decided to dedicate its party to supporting downtown businesses; they'll be raffling off meals at local restaurants and other prizes.”
