Nina Griscom's Invite Peeve

Nina Griscom, woman-about-town and columnist for Food & Wine magazine, writes in the December issue of her favorite kinds of invites--and those she finds irritating. “Those that appeal to me most are simple and elegant, in ivory envelopes addressed with classic calligraphy.” If Griscom's on your list of invitees, make sure to avoid confetti--already blacklisted because of anthrax scares--which tempts her “to chuck the whole thing in the trash.” She continues: “I think we could all use a good dose of creativity that doesn't scream money. Give to charity what you save on engraving.”
