Richard Aaron, President Of BizBash, Receives International Industry Award

New York, NY—March 11, 2013—Richard Aaron CMP, CSEP president of BizBash has received a prestigious award presented to him by Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland, at the International Centre for the Study of Planned Events. Dr. Joe Goldblatt presented Aaron with the university’s internationally recognized award as a Legendary Luminary of Planned Events for his role in the development of the modern event industry.

Previous recipients of this award include Bill Morton, former chairman of Jack Morton Worldwide, and David Slower, producer of the Athens, Greece, Summer Olympic Games’ opening and closing ceremonies.

Richard is currently an adjunct professor at New York University’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management, as well as a visiting professor at the graduate tourism program for George Washington University. He serves as president of BizBash in New York City, the leading trade media for event and meeting organizers and event marketers.

Aaron, who has served on the boards of several leading hospitality organizations in the meeting and event industry, recently headed the NYC Industry Hospitality Council for post-9/11 meetings. He has chaired three industry foundations. Aaron currently serves as chairmen of the Green Meeting Industry Sustainable Foundation, which supports global initiatives to transform sustainable practices within the hospitality industry. He resides in Teaneck, New Jersey, with his wife, professor Marilyn Rubin of Fairleigh Dickinson University.
