With Stephanie Winston Wolkoff installed as the first fashion director of Lincoln Center, the performing arts campus is hoping to bring more fashion and events to its Upper West Side home. And indeed, the presence of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week—and the crowds of buyers, editors, designers, and press it draws—has lured more companies to position their promotional efforts in and around Lincoln Center.
In Style fashioned the Hauser Patron Salon of Alice Tully Hall into lounge for entertaining buyers, staff, and other guests of the magazine, while Harper's Bazaar, with the support of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and sponsorship from Willow Club, chose Avery Fisher Hall as the stage for its accessories bazaar, a showcase of 18 jewelers, milliners, footwear, handbag, and small leather goods designers.
For Bon Appétit, which has constructed a pop-up café for the public since 2007, the opportunity to reach a new and potentially broader audience was too big to pass up, so the food title opted to bring its promotional platform to Avery Fisher Hall. "Taste is the touchstone of both food and fashion, so Bon Appétit is delighted to bring these like-minded crafts together for a remarkable week of inspiration, entertainment, and fantastic food," said Carol Smith, vice president and publishing director of Bon Appétit and Gourmet.
Here's a look at the promotions that popped up.
