This Week: Art Fest to Galas Across the State

Madiba Miami Restaurant hosts the first gala event of the SA Business Club Florida chapter on Saturday. The evening will feature the food, wine, and music of South Africa, along with a presentation by Dr. Felicia Mabuza-Suttle, the president of SA Tourism USA…Also on Saturday is Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden's biggest fund-raiser of the year, the Gala in the Garden. It will include a cocktail reception, a silent auction, and dinner and dancing in the garden's pavilion. Proceeds will benefit Fairchild's programs in education, conservation, and research…The Mount Dora Arts Festival begins on Saturday and runs until Sunday. Produced by the Mount Dora Center for the Arts, the event includes live entertainment, food, and children's activities…The Plant City Bike Fest takes place on Saturday at an eight-block stretch near the Plant City Train Depot. The festival for bikers and motorcycle fans will include food and products from more than 70 vendors and feature over 1,000 bikes... The Sarasota Sky Pilots Disc Golf Club presents the 15th annual Sarasota Ice Bowl on Saturday as well at the North Sarasota Water Tower Park, benefiting the All Faiths Food Bank.

Thursday, February 9: The 102nd annual Florida State Fair begins today and runs until February 20 at the Florida State Fairgrounds. This year, the fair will have new entertainment and attractions such as the Southern Chevy Dealers Super SportsFest with 52,000 square feet of interactive games plus the Preview of the World's Fair for Kids at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center, which will feature activities for kids, teens, and parents and live entertainment…Saturday, February 11: The Miami Beach Festival of the Arts takes place on Collins Avenue and 73rd Street through Sunday, featuring the work of more than 100 national artists, entertainment by local arts groups, food vendors, and other activities…McCall Park in Tampa is hosting the Taste of Chocolate Festival, sponsored by Plant City Entertainment.
