CBS PLANS LIVE EVENT MARKING CIVIL RIGHTS ANNIVERSARY: CBS News will air a live event later this month commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act with a panel discussion featuring Representative John Lewis, Harry Belafonte, historian Taylor Branch, N.B.A. player Jason Collins, Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie Perez, lawyer Evan Wolfson, and CBS Sports anchor James Brown. Hollywood Reporter: "The idea is to rethink what is a traditional format—a moderated panel—and bring that to life so that it's entertaining and informative and takes advantage of all the distribution outlets that are available today," says David Goodman, president of CBS Live Experiences. 3. IS THIS THE BEST SUMMER FESTIVAL POSTER EVER?: A giant poster made of colorful 3-D letters—so big you can climb on it—will promote the Malmö Festival in Sweden, which takes place in August. Adweek: “Calling this thing a poster feels a bit off. It's more of an art installation. You can't even see the whole image from the ground; you have to be up in the air to do that.
