Where can you rent art?
If you want to give an event space a gallery-like look or display art to create a greater sense of a place or time period, look to these companies for rentals.
Pieces from Available Art’s collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures, and photographs have decked walls on the sets of The Sopranos and The Royal Tenenbaums, but all items can be rented for events as well. Owner Alexandra Tager will suggest pieces if you are looking for a specific style or genre of art, from erotic to African-American. The renter is responsible for pickup and return; in most cases, the work is collected directly from the artists, who are mainly located in Manhattan or Brooklyn.
Art for Media rents an extensive collection of contemporary works for film and television shoots, and the company also welcomes event rentals. Delivery is available.
In addition to more traditional paintings and photos, art rental company Art ASAP recently introduced a new contemporary line called Art Lex. The modular collection features customizable images printed on high-gloss acrylic panels that can be displayed on their own or put together to create one large piece of art. City deliveries usually run about $80.
