The Battery Conservancy, a nonprofit devoted to rebuilding and revitalizing Battery Park and its major landmarks, honored House & Garden editor in chief and Battery Conservancy board member Dominique Browning at its 11th annual benefit at the park. The event’s design inspiration came from the brightly colored 7- by 9-foot information panels which cover the fence surrounding the MTA's current construction project in the park. Interior designers Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz and Stephen Wine filled the event with bright stripes, which appeared both on dinner table runners and covered gift bags that hung from each seat. Canard Inc. served the 450 guests cocktails and hors d'oeuvres inside Castle Clinton, and later, guests moved to the water's edge for views of New York Harbor and a three-course dinner beneath a tent with a clear ceiling. The conservancy's Emily Cole-Kelly planned the event.
