Any time a South Florida developer beats out Donald Trump and Jorge Perez to win Florida's 2006 Visionary Project of the Year award, presented by the Florida Builders & Developers Alliance with a speech by Governor Jeb Bush's assistant Waldemar Serrano, a celebration becomes inevitable. This was true for CMA Companies, the developers behind Orlando's future condo the Blue Rose, whose recent recognition led to a 1,600-person, semi-formal celebration at the grand ballroom of the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal on June 9, as well as a subsequent two-day invitation-only gathering to officially open the hotel's residential tower.
Friday's inaugural gala, which resulted from a joint effort by CMA Companies' main developer Camilo Aguirre and Blue Rose sales administrator Jenelle Vaque, primarily functioned as a means to showcase the Blue Rose Theatre's Broadway musical extravaganza, which will be featuring a variety of entertainment like the ones shown throughout the night. Venezuela's Jose Luis Rodriguez, or El Puma as he's better known throughout Latin America, performed an intimate concert with a 10-piece Mariachi band from Winter Garden. The New Century Dance Company also entertained the crowd with their rumba, tango, swing, and 1950's-style b-bop dances.
In keeping with the night's Latin theme, six international food stations (including a dessert station) were created providing cuisine from Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, and other Hispanic regions. Additionally, the Royal Pacific Resort provided hors d'oeuvres and an open bar.
Ice Magic supplied an ice sculpture with the Blue Rose's logo. Experience Florida placed a different hue of light under each table, creating a colorful ambiance as the lights dimmed. Sectioned off by velvet ropes just outside the venue was a Maserati Ferrari with a blue rose placed on its hood, which would eventually be awarded to the top salesperson within the company.
"The gala was a spectacular event reflective of what the Blue Rose brings to the mix: an eclectic entertainment project and condo facility that mixes the passion of Miami with the excitement of Las Vegas and the nighttime energy of New York—all under one roof," said Aguirre, who decided to host this lavish party just two weeks prior to the event and somehow still managed to pull it off without a hitch.
During the next two days, approximately 125 invited guests gathered at the company's sales office for the exclusive pre-construction grand opening of the Blue Rose's residential tower. These prospective clients were given a V.I.P. preview of the residential floor plans, which includes enormous three-level penthouses, as well as luxurious amenities such as the Bloom Spa and the Rooftop Lounge and Solarium.
