Rustic-looking signs, 17-foot-tall trees, and brightly colored picnic tables brought a summer camp feeling to Midtown on Wednesday for the early-evening premiere of and after-party for Camp Rock, a new Disney Channel musical starring the Jonas Brothers. Hundreds of screaming fans (mostly girls) packed 54th Street outside the Ziegfeld Theatre where the screening was held, and hundreds more (about 1,000 guests in total) filled the atrium of Remi for the after-party.Tiffany Iino, vice president of creative services for Disney/ABC, tapped Events Forum to handle the production and design of the event, which drew visual inspiration from the film to deck out the restaurant in summer colors and outdoorsy elements. Chosen mostly because of its proximity to the theater (which is across the street), Remi's atrium also served as the site of a concert from the pop-singing siblings and film co-star Demi Lovato.
To set the scene, Events Forum used pillars made to look like distressed wood and a colorful totem pole to mark the entrance to the party, and red picnic tables, folding chairs in various colors, and lofty trees to decorate the indoor portion. Canoes on the bar held bottled water and drinks on a bed of ice, while food was placed on drums and guitar cases at the dessert station.
