Unlike other cities, New York doesn't have a wide selection of boats and yachts offered for corporate rental. Here are three new options that became available this year.
1. In November, Hornblower Cruises & Events introduced the 600-passenger Hornblower Hybrid, which is powered by hydrogen fuel cells, solar panels, and wind turbines. The yacht, which has indoor and outdoor decks, comes outfitted with LED lights, complimentary Wi-Fi, and on-board touch-screen tablets.
2. Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises launched its new Beast speedboat in June. The jet-powered craft, which boards at the charter company’s 42nd Street pier and cruises down the Hudson River toward the Statue of Liberty, can accommodate 138 people and be reserved for private groups.
3. This year, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises also began offering fall weekend day cruises to Bear Mountain. The sail, which is about three hours each way, travels along the Hudson River and brings guests to Bear Mountain State Park. Discounted pricing is available for groups of 20 or more.
