On October 2 BizBash and the Skirball Cultural Center came together to celebrate the opening of two new adjoining buildings on the Skirball campus at the Guerin Pavilion V.I.P. Preview event. The party included a lavish display of food, including passed hors d’oeuvres, carving stations, a Mediterranean appetizer display, and a sushi station, all catered by the Skirball’s in-house catering department. Guests also enjoyed an open top-shelf bar, florals and decor by Luna Gardens Events, and a sleek photo booth by Lensley Automatic. Attendees included planners such as Linda Howard, David Pressman, and Carol Saunders.
The completion of Guerin Pavilion and Herscher Hall marks the end of the 30-year campus plan for the Skirball. The buildings complete the Skirball’s 15- acre campus, which currently includes museum galleries, performance spaces, conference and event facilities, classrooms, courtyards, and gardens. The expansion accommodates growing public demand for a modern and architecturally distinct large-scale event space in Los Angeles, at an institution founded to uplift the spirit and enrich the community.
The new 17,500 square feet of event space provides a setting for all types of gatherings—from grand weddings and receptions, to conferences and networking events, to galas and celebrations. The centerpiece of the new facility is the 9,000-square-foot ballroom, which is flooded by warm natural light from nearly 100 custom designed skylights in an arched roof supported by Oregon Douglas fir beams. A large window wall frames the view of a cascading terraced garden, which features 30 Japanese maple trees. The entrance plaza is accented with coral trees, enamel art panels, and a monumental fountain.
The ballroom seats as many as 670 banquet guests, or it can be partitioned into multiple rooms for smaller events. Available now for event bookings.
