After a major move out of California into Canada this year, the TED Conference and its simulcast partner event, TEDActive, wrapped in Vancouver and Whistler, respectively, on Friday. In its 30th anniversary program, Chris Anderson's flagship event drew about 1,200 attendees from 42 countries for the signature 18-minute-or-less talks, which were held in a David Rockwell-designed theater constructed from thousands of laser-cut pieces. At the smaller TEDActive in Whistler, 700 attendees from 64 countries included more than 300 independent TEDx organizers from all over the world.
