Launchpad: With a background in fashion, Haydar began his career working in PR and production for nightlife events and music festivals in Sydney and London. In 2006, he moved to Toronto, and in 2013, founded his own design business.
Clients: Haydar has worked with Mulberry, Louis Vuitton, Aldo, Bacardi, and Maybelline.
Signature aesthetic: “Modern, clean, innovative, and effortless.”
Favorite flowers: Peonies, garden roses, and phalaenopsis orchids
Most surprising decor used: Cotton candy. For a high-end birthday party that was featured on the Food Network show Sugar Stars, “We used kilos and kilos to create an over-the-top dessert installation with the cotton candy as linen.”
Hidden talent: “I’m pretty handy with a needle and thread.”
What’s next: “My goal is to have offices in New York and in my hometown of Sydney and to be an on-air personality specializing in decor and entertaining.” He’d also like to create a “range of accessible, luxury event products” for home entertaining.
