Liquor purveyor Svedka is known for its cheeky events. So when the brand hosted a country-club-theme event to launch its new cucumber-lime flavor, it’s no surprise there were whimsical details that provided playful twists on a look and feel that was simply preppy at first glance.
For the event, held in Los Angeles on June 14, the brand worked with regular collaborator Jessica Fels to transform a Hancock Park estate into a country club atmosphere full of on-theme activations. The estate had the potential to match the vibe of a classic East Coast club, setting the ideal backdrop for the bash.
"For all Svedka celebrations, we focus our attention on creating standout experiential moments throughout the event that naturally lend themselves to social engagement, and that are unique to the brand and the new flavor we're launching in particular,” said Meryl Van Meter, the director of public relations for spirits at Constellation Brands, which owns Svedka. “Inspired by movies from the ‘80s, like the infamous Heathers, the Svedka Vodka Country Club was born—complete with mini golf and boccie ball, spiked spa water, synchronized swimmers, and a polo-clad country club staff."
The palette was kelly green, lime green, and white—which together created a fresh look. “I wanted to bring to life that old-school feeling of a typical preppy, East Coast country club, while also bringing to life the Svedka Cucumber Lime and, most importantly, ensuring the event had a very fun, lively environment,” said Fels.
Shadow PR partner Michelle Davidson, who conceptualized the event’s theme, said the goal was to “ensure that the feel of the party matched Svedka’s fun brand identity.”
