Australia's Indigenous Terrain Lends Inspiration to Gala Decor

Australia Week’s "G’Day USA" black-tie gala took over the Hollywood Palladium on January 22, marking the culmination of Australia Week's Los Angeles festivities, and honoring high-profile Australians in the U.S. entertainment industry for their contributions to promoting their home country here. The week's event director, Barb Held, contracted Sequoia Productions for the eight consecutive year to produce and design the gala, which included dinner, an award ceremony, and entertainment. The palette for the event's decor was based on the indigenous colors of Australia's natural environment of oranges, reds, and browns, with rust and green accents, and included various color combinations for each seating section. Small and low floral arrangements of various shapes mimicked the indigenous colors, with orange roses as the primary flower from CJ Matsumoto & Sons.
