Kristen Teesdale is the event manager for The Washington Business Journal. She plans seven annual events, ranging from 450 to 850 attendees, throughout the greater Washington area.

Venue: “Working in the D.C. metro area has provided a number of really exciting and different venue options. The National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum is in an exciting and continually up-and-coming neighborhood. After six years of renovations, the museum reopened [last year], and it offers a completely unique space on the third floor."

Venue: “The Almas Shriners Temple on K Street is like a hidden secret. Its mosaic entryway stands out amidst the other urban buildings on the street, and it is quite beautiful. They’ve managed to keep the original work on the outside, and the interior gives way to a beautiful grand staircase and large, spacious room, perfect for accommodating a large reception.”

Catering: “For one of our largest annual events, I worked closely with Ridgewells. They are tremendous at what they do. They were there for every question I had all night long, they remained cool, collected, and friendly through the whole evening, and the crowd couldn’t stop talking about how amazing every piece of food was.”

Printing: “The company I have used for most of my event signage needs has been Driven Inc. In my experience with them, they always produce great quality signage, and their turnaround time is absolutely incredible."
