About 3,500 travel professionals descended on L.A. Live on Sunday night for the opening reception of the 40th annual National Business Travel Association conference. LA Inc. partnered with AEG to invite attendees for a performance by Cyndi Lauper, which took place inside the Nokia Theatre. Guests then moved to an outdoor club-like environment created by Eventworks.
The event, dubbed "Intrigue," was meant to facilitate a loungey atmosphere where partygoers could network. Set in the streets of downtown Los Angeles, the event featured modern decor, a DJ, and multiple spaces with dance floors. “The concept involved creating a true high-tech club outside on the streets of downtown. This club atmosphere in a unique, urban setting was the perfect way to get everyone excited about Los Angeles while enjoying an evening surrounded by the city,” said Eventworks president Janet Elkins.
