The Central Park Zoo stayed open late for fashion's most famous crocodile. As apathetic sea lions yawned in the background, guests mingled under a night sky at a Fashion Week party celebrating the opening of Lacoste's new concept store on Fifth Avenue.
Coordinated by Paul Wilmot Communications, the evening garden party had guests following a candlelit walkway to ivy-draped, lagoon-like surroundings. For those who opted to gather around the candle-lit sea lion tank to watch the wildlife, Matthew David Events provided cozy white fleece blankets and plush pillows over the stairs for optimum comfort. Grass green wicker chairs, large rectangular wax pillar votives, white couches and pillowed park benches set the décor for the event beneath a clear-top tent from Stamford Tent and Party Rental. Frost Lighting provided what light wasn't fueled by fire.
While no actual crocs lurked the premises, servers from Urban Events wearing Lacoste polos primly passed out green "Lacosmos" mixed with sponsor Extreme's vodka. Patrons could also choose their own poison at one of two illuminated bars branded with the Lacoste logo.
DJ Krikor spun well into the night for all sorts of party animals, monkeys and models alike. And when the festivities came to a halt, guests left with lungs full of fresh air and a copy of the book The Legend Lacoste. It was a pleasant evening with minimal zoo-like behavior.
